The Lussac St-Emilion vineyards are 45 kms north-east of Bordeaux and 12 kms from Libourne. They are limited to the commune of Lussac.
Located on the 45th parallel, equidistant from the North Pole and Equator , the St-Emilion area enjoys the temperature, ocean climate of the Bordeaux region . The winters are mild, summer are hot and autumns are long and sunny.

The wine producing areas of Lussac St-Emilion, north of the St-Emilion hill, range from valleys to plateaux, forming a natural amphitheatre which faces full south, making for easy natural drainage.
The vineyard of the family Charpentier stretches on 12 hectares.
Our soils are limestone, clay and silt.

About 80% of our vines are Merlot, but there are also some Cabernet-Sauvignon (15%) and some Cabernet-Franc (or Bouchet) (5%).
The planting density is about 5 500 feet per hectare.
Four generations of winegrowers have here perpetuated ancestral skills and know-how. Olivier works essentially in the vines and at the wine-making (as his father Jean-Claude learnt him) while Carine takes care of administration and comes to help in the vines at the busy time. Together, they take part to sales on winefairs in France and Belgium.
Both strive to make great and elegant wines. Numerous prizes regularly reward their craftsmanship.
